3 Chevy models earn first place in J.D. Power study

Three Chevy models --the subcompact Sonic, compact Volt and Avalanche pickup-- received the highest scores in their category in J.D. Power and Associates' annual survey measuring the appeal of vehicles to owners after 90 days of ownership.

Specifically, the survey measures owner opinions on the vehicle's styling, performance and design, according to the Detroit Free Press, and is based on responses gathered earlier this year from more than 74,000 purchasers and lessees of new 2012 model-year cars and trucks.

In this year's study, Ford and Dodge were among seven automotive brands with two models that finished first in their segment. Ford had the most first-place models this year.

Toyota, Honda, Nissan below industry average. JD Power study? *Use Consumer Reports for a better evaluation of vehicles and their 'real ratings.' My vehicle runs good, its paid for, gets decent MPG and I will Not be replacing it with anything else! I will drive my current vehicle into the ground before buying anything new, used, EV, Inbred, diesel, hydrogen, alternative fuel, CNG, concept or 3 Chevy models, Ford, Dodge, etc. With 'coming out of the closet' Barry's lousy, smoke and mirrors, lack of jobs, dog and pony show and in the crapper economy, who can afford to buy a new vehicle! Barry can spin the jobs numbers so they look much better than what they really are, he's a smooooth talker if there ever was one! Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! 12/22/2012

The Avalanche is ending production next year and the Volt continues to be one of the lowest selling vehicles they make. I certainly would never buy one.

I'm not saying the survey is wrong but I like to make decisions based on something other than "do you feel good about your purchase"
