I would have an electric vehicle if I could afford to buy it but alas no money for that kind of useful stuff.

Sounds like GM has a start on a working electric vehicle.

The interior looks like something out of the 80 GM. All squares and digital. Go look at a Fusion Hybrid!

Uh-huh. And what of the prime mover that generated the electricity to charge the Volt's batteries in the first place? I suppose it was magic, coming from a non-polluting energy source. You hardly ever hear this part of the "clean" energy electric car debate.

I've seen some volts on the road and they seem to be handling well on the road.

Too expensive for me to justify. I'll wait a few years to see which way the electric auto develops.

pretty darn expensive golf cart. biggest item is it keeps you dry in the wet weather and cool in the hot weather and uses lots of electrons.

Lets all keep putting down a vehicle we know little about. It doesn’t matter the US workers and taxpayers have an interest in GM's success.

I'll take a Volt, IF it comes with a wind turbine to provide electricity so I can drive more than 40 miles!

Read the whole thing yesterday, thanks for the details on the test. This car has a range of 5000 miles between charges (just keep filling the gas tank)

It looks like a nice car, but clearly overpriced to recover the added thousands of up front dollars. I'll stick with my plan of buying good used cars that I can pay for without needing financing. Not having a payment means paying for more gas isn't a problem.
